- Where do avalanches occur?
Avalanches can occur anywhere where there is a mountain and some snow. Most avalanches occur on a mountain that is 35 degrees or steeper. They occur in temperate ares where there is commonly fresh fallen snow. They are most common between the months of December through April.

- How does an avalanche start?
An avalanche can start in many ways. One way is by someone sliding down on skis or a snowmobile and causing a disruption which causes an avalanche. A loud noise can also vibrate the snow and cause an avalanche. People can also try to prevent them by purposely causing avalanches. They find a mountain with loose snow and shoot bombs at it which will cause an avalanche.
